Erasmus Outreach in South Korea
On 9th and 10th November 2023, OCEANS Network represented by Uswa Alhamid had visited Hankuk University Of Foreign Studies (HUFS) and Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea for Erasmus Outreach.
An information session about Opportunity Study and Work in Europe was held on 9th and 10th November 2023 in Seoul, South Korea. In this event, OCEANS Network represented by Uswa Alhamid did presentation in two universities, Hankuk University of foreign Studies (HUFS) and Yonsei University. The event attended by around 40 participants in total including university student and stakeholder in South Korea.
On the 1st day, the event was held at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) and attended by university students from undergraduate to doctoral students. Director of HUFS Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, prof. Kim-Si-Hong gave the welcome remark for opening and followed by a presentation from OCEANS Network, Uswa Alhamid about Erasmus Scholarship Opportunity for Study in Europe and continued by EURAXESS Representative in South Korea, Dr. Tomas Wierzbowski, who gave the presentation and insight about the research opportunity and work in Europe. The last session was question and answer session with participant who curious about Erasmus+ scholarship and life in Europe.
On the 2nd day, the event was held in Yonsei University with support from Professor Soon-Yong Pak who is conducting research about EU- South Korea Student Mobility and also attended by university students especially those from Education Faculty. Similar to the 1st day, OCEANS Network and EURAXESS Representative gave a presentation and insight about the opportunity to study and work in Europe. There were many questions from students, especially those from undergraduate students who were interested in an exchange student scholarship under the Erasmus scheme. We also shared the link with information for those who missed the offline event.
In addition to these inspirational speaker sessions, we would like to say thank you to Tony Michell Ph.D from EU-ROK Policy Dialogue Support Facility, and Ms. Eunjung Choi from ICF Ecosiam and Dr. Tomas Wierzbowski from EURAXESS South Korea, for their kind support to make this event happen.
