A platform called eudemy.id is kicking off its pilot program to help young people in ASEAN getting to know Erasmus+ programs and help them succeed in their application through series of webinar sessions and mentorship program. As young people in Indonesia and ASEAN are less familiar with Erasmus+ program based on the data from a report of Erasmus+ for higher education in Indonesia, it was reported that in total, there were only 162 Indonesian scholarship winners for Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) in total from 2014 to 2019 (European Commission, 2020). This number is comparatively similar to any other country in Southeast Asia. Indonesia and Vietnam reached more than 150 scholarship winners (from a period 2014-2019), however, some other countries are less than 100 people of scholarship winners. Hence, it is considered urgent to help spread out the information about the Erasmus+ program and opening wider participation from across Southeast Asia. They are eager to know about the Erasmus+ program and have potencies to upgrade their academic, career, and life skills by joining the program. Hence, as alumni of the EMJMD program, we are creating @eudemy.id, as a platform where they can get a mentorship program to get to know and prepare themselves to apply for a program.
Furthermore, eudemy.id in the later project will give bigger impact by partnering with youth communities to provide training guidelines (on personal development, academic, and career) for young people in some different regions in Indonesia. The community partnership is a sustainability for future project to develop based on regional needs.
